THE BRIDGE: ADULT DAY PROGRAM

Calgary - NW and SW Locations

By: Compass Rose Care

A supported day out for adults with dementia or a life-limiting illness.

Meaningful activities, social connection, a fresh lunch, and more, every program day.

No referral required. No current waitlist.

What We Offer

The Bridge was built to give people living with dementia or a life-limiting illness somewhere good to spend the day, and to give the people caring for them somewhere to exhale. It is not a list of service tiers. It is one program that flexes around your loved one's needs and your family's reality.

Here is what that actually looks like.

Our Process

1. Inquiry

Call us. We'll talk through what caregiving looks like for you right now and figure out together whether The Bridge is a good fit for your loved one.

2. Trial Visit (optional)

Not ready to commit? Come tour the space, or bring your loved one for a complimentary visit, anywhere from a couple of hours to a full day, and see how they respond before deciding anything

3. RN Intake Assessment

One of our nurses spends about an hour with you, in person or by phone, to understand your loved one's medical history, preferences, and needs. We also ask what they don't like. That tells us just as much.

4. Starting Day

Your loved one begins the program, and you get your day back. Most families notice the shift quickly: more patience, a steadier approach, more room to just be a daughter, son or spouse again instead of a full-time care manager.

Affordable Private Pay

What a day at The Bridge costs, and what's included

The Bridge is priced as a genuinely affordable alternative to private home care, not a scaled-down version of it. Families get RN-led oversight, structured programming, and real respite, without the cost of one-on-one care in the home.

Rates depend on how many days a week your loved one attends:

  • 1 day a week: starting at $145 per day (currently available)

  • 2 days a week: starting at $130 per day for attendees who sign up for two days a week (rolling out at each location as it reaches capacity)

Attendance requires a monthly commitment.

What’s Included

  • 6 hours of intentional programming

  • All supplies

  • Lunch and two snacks

  • Coffee, tea and water throughout the day

  • Non-alcoholic happy hour to close out the day

  • A 5:1 ration of attendees to caregivers

  • Community visitors for music and additional programming

Not Included

  • Transportation

  • 1:1 care (can be arranged as required)

  • Care outside the 6-hour program window, including early drop-of or late pickup

  • Personal medications (we support administration, families supply the medication)

  • Personal care supplies, such as incontinence products

Compass Rose Care is an approved CDHCI provider, so funding through Alberta's Client Directed Home Care Invoicing program may be able to offset part of the cost, depending on your loved one's eligibility.

Locations

The Bridge runs in the following communities in Calgary:

  • Canyon Meadows (SW)

  • Silver Springs (NW)

Program hours are 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, six hours of programming each day.

Transportation isn't available yet, so families are responsible for drop-off and pickup for now. We're actively working on changing that.

For questions about location logistics before you commit to anything, call us and we'll walk you through options.
